Shakshuka (grilled eggs in tomato sauce) from “Lunch for Breakfast” by Lindsay Landis and Taylor Hackbarth |
Please raise your hand. How many of you cooks find more ingredients for breakfast than dinner, using your fridge and pantry for dinner inspiration and wonder? I'm sure there are many of you.
Love and Olive Oil bloggers Lindsay Landis and Taylor Hackbarth took this idea a step further and wrote a delicious breakfast and dinner cookbook that was published yesterday and is waiting on your shelves now. To assemble and take with you to your kitchen.
When I received the review copy in the mail a few days ago, the first thing I noticed was the quality of this cookbook, with beautiful photos for each recipe and easy-to-read recipes that fit on every page.
The book is neatly divided into categories, starting with "Getting Started," which shows how Lindsey and Taylor started with the basics of what they had in the fridge and pantry, well... It goes on from there to the recipes: main dishes, side dishes. . Main dishes and appetizers, drinks and desserts, with multiple sections for preparing various recipe components (like the easy sweet pancakes used in this Banana Foster Pancake Cake).
From steak and eggs Benedict to mint chocolate donuts to an impressive bacon bourbon cocktail somewhere in between, I found this book to be pretty quirky and offers great recipes with affordable ingredients.
I made the Shakshuka (photos above) for my family last night and received a great response. In a well-equipped kitchen, you will already have most or all of the ingredients on hand: eggs, high-quality canned tomatoes, some herbs and spices, fresh, tasty peppers, and feta cheese. Simple, easy and delicious.
This weekend I'm making beer braised ribs and cornmeal pancakes with Earl Gray panna cotta for dessert. If you liked it, I recommend you buy this book . NOW:
